A Tribute to Pat Smith

PA Lyme Resource Network was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Pat Smith, long-serving President of the Lyme Disease Association, Inc, and dedicated Lyme advocate who championed patients' rights for decades.

Over the years, we crossed paths with Pat at Lyme conferences, watched her go toe-to-toe with legislators, and utilized the many materials and resources the Lyme Disease Association (LDA) organization made available.

Personally, she engaged with PA Lyme on many issues, guiding us on navigating legislation in Pennsylvania, and granting us LDA funds to produce one of our most critical Dare Program brochures, Dare to Know: Recognizing and Treating Lyme & Other Diseases from Ticks.

We are grateful to Pat for her unwavering dedication to tick-borne disease education and awareness, and for setting the bar high for future Lyme advocates. Thank you, Pat and Lyme Disease Association.
